On Thursday, February 15, 2007, Boost Mobile presented the most highly anticipated celebrity fundraiser event of All-Star weekend. The 2007 Boost Mobile Zo & Magic’s 8-Ball Challenge, in conjunction with NBA All-Star Alonzo Mourning of the Miami Heat and NBA legend, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, took over the city of lights and showcased the billiard skills of some of the most recognizable faces in sports, film, television and music. Hosted by Academy Award nominee and Grammy award winner Queen Latifah and SAG Award winner and Grammy award winner, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, the 2007 Boost Mobile Zo & Magic’s 8-Ball Challenge at the luxurious Wynn Las Vegas Resort and Casino was the place to be last Thursday night.
The who’s who list of celebrities and sports stars including Dwyane Wade (Miami Heat), Shaquille O’Neal (Miami Heat), the legendary Julius “Dr. J” Erving, Amare Stoudemire (Phoenix Suns), Carmelo Anthony (Denver Nuggets), Reggie Bush (New Orleans Saints), Terrell Owens (Dallas Cowboys), actor Nick Cannon, actress Vivica A. Fox and actress Regina King competed for a grand prize package that included Boost Mobile phones and service, luxury trips, Tiffany & Company custom made gifts, X-Box’s and much, much more.
Those VIP party-goers that were not playing pool chilled in the B Spot, Boost’s ultra hip and exclusive lounge that had a private craps table. The B Spot was also where Boost’s very own Daryl Butler presented Magic Johnson and Alonzo Mourning with a check for $75,000 to further show Boost’s support of their charities.
