Tosh Townend
Born in Huntington Beach with surfing in his blood, Tosh Townend was riding waves at a very young age. Eventually, at six-years-old, his world-surfing-champion father handed him a skateboard and Tosh’s world changed. Tosh took a liking to handrails, and eventually became one of the youngest skateboarders to completely annihilate handrails that the skateboarding world had ever seen. He was fearless and didn’t think twice about breaking himself off to push the limits. Little did he know it, (he was just in his early teens) but he was ushering in a new breed of rippers to whom eight or ten stair sets and rails were the norm—if not too small. Tosh is an Element veteran these days and even has a new pro model shoe with them to prove it. He’s recently launched his own series of comic books as well, and he’s not quite the little kid the skateboard world was introduced to anymore. He’s grown quite a bit in size, undergone a few surgeries and his skating has progressed as well. What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you?
When I was real young like 3rd grade. I was run jump roping across the schoolyard looking down. Looked up and smack knocked my big tooth out in front of pretty much the whole school.
What’s a TV show you watch that’s embarrassing to admit to?
I have never watched a whole season of any TV show, but, I do have every box set of the Simpsons.
Favorite place to travel?
Just went to Hawaii, I would say that’s up there.
Worst travel experience ever?
Eating the local plate in the Hawaii Airport before my flight to Australia and getting on the flight not knowing I’m about to be projectile vomiting from all my holes all the way there. Then no one at the airport to pick me up, got a ride to the city where P.V. did not stop till the next mourning. Where I had to catch a ferry to meet up with the posse staying on the beach.
Worst advice anyone’s ever given you?
Ya come over ride for our shoe program, then clip you from everything.
Stupidest thing you ever wasted your money on?
77 Bronco, Tickets, Taxes.
